It’s easy to see why Lingonberry Roastery and Bakery on Northlake Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens has quickly become a favorite among locals. Whether one is a coffee lover, a fan of fresh-baked bread, or just in need of some comforting food, Lingonberry offers an experience that goes beyond that of a typical café.
Smells of freshly brewed coffee and warm bread greet patrons from the moment they enter. The café’s cozy setup, featuring a mix of tables, couches, and armchairs, makes it an ideal spot to settle in – whether to work, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a drink. With both indoor and outdoor seating, the Swedish-centric cafe is a welcoming space for all.
Each meal comes with a side of lingonberry jam–a tart, slightly sweet addition that is an interesting new flavor for customers to try. But the Swedish influence doesn’t stop there. Signature menu items such as The Vasa, a breakfast sandwich with sausage, eggs, Swiss cheese, and a drizzle of lingonberry sauce on a croissant, and The Stockholm, with its crispy bacon, avocado, swiss cheese with a drizzle of honey on a croissant, offer a Swedish twist on breakfast cuisine. The unique touches offer a taste of something different and set Lingonberry apart from other nearby cafés.
No café experience is complete without a great cup of coffee, and Lingonberry delivers. Beans from Ethiopia, Kenya, Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Panama are roasted in-house, ensuring each cup has depth without overwhelming bitterness.
During my visit, I tried their iced vanilla latte; it was outstanding. The coffee was smooth and rich, with just the right balance of vanilla sweetness, creating a refreshing yet comforting drink. Each sip was a perfect blend of bold coffee and a sweet aftertaste.
Yet what truly sets Lingonberry apart isn’t just its coffee – it’s the bread. Lingonberry’s sourdough is the star of its menu. Made with a starter created in-house, it has the ideal balance of crispy crust and a soft interior. The sourdough flavor is rich but not overpowering, and pairs great with just about anything on their menu.
I tried a Caprese sandwich on their famous sourdough and it was nothing short of delicious. The bread held up perfectly to its fresh mozzarella cheese, basil, and tomato and the flavors really came together wonderfully. It was simple yet carefully made and showed the quality of Lingonberry’s ingredients.
What’s even more impressive, though, is how accommodating their staff is. As someone with a nut allergy, dining out can sometimes be difficult, especially with pastries involved. However, when I mentioned my allergy, the team was quick to accommodate, and ensured that my meal was prepared safely, showing a level of care and attention to detail that is rare to find these days. It’s that kind of service that makes Lingonberry a standout café.
The coffee, baked goods, and outstanding service set it apart. Awarded Palm Beach Post’s 2022 Best Coffee House, Lingonberry has quickly earned its reputation as a standout café. For anyone in Palm Beach Gardens looking for a place with a homey, feel good atmosphere, Lingonberry Roastery and Bakery is the place to go.
