    Buc Ambassadors

    The Benjamin Student Ambassador club is designed to bridge the gap between new members of our community with returning members of our school community. This includes hosting students for shadow days, offering campus tours for Admission events such as Open House, and working with students and families in the on-boarding process after enrollment. Student Ambassadors are expected to be kind, outgoing, welcoming and positive ambassadors of TBS.

     

    Buc Paws

    Group discussions on animal shelters, discussing about what we as a community can do to help, planning volunteer days/projects. We would like to have optional volunteer days at local shelters such as Big Dog Ranch Rescue, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue, Furry Friends, etc.

     

    Baking Club

    A club for students to partake in to spread the joy of baking/possibly donate goods.

     

    Dive and Free Dive Club

    The purpose is to allow students who share the love for the water and marine life learn and experience the beautiful oceans right outside. Activities would be weekend dives, beach clean ups and lessons on marine life(such as coral reefs and pollution).

     

     

    Life Skills(Home Economics)

    The Life Skills Club will be identical to the Home Economics Club in terms of its goals, the only change is its name. The club will continue to focus on teaching essential tools not covered in school to succeed in life. Normal club activities will consist of discussion and if necessary practical demonstrations. This includes basic car maintenance such as changing oil, changing a car tire, jump-starting a car, and understanding car insurance. Additionally, it will cover basic home repairs like replacing a light bulb, performing basic wall repairs, and understanding home insurance. The club will also break down resume writing, interview techniques, proper dieting, and nutrition. Members will gain a practical understanding of money management, learning about topics like Roth IRAs and how to manage their taxes efficiently.

    Mindful Student Club

    The Mindful Student Club works to center and make students and teachers more conscious and content through the practice of meditation and mindfulness. The club will continue to also work in small groups to discuss the topic of mindfulness and practice meditation.

    Mock Trial

    This club meets throughout the fall as needed until our official packet for the Mock Trial Competition (through the Palm Beach County Court system) arrives, and then we meet weekly and add meetings as we ramp up to the competition in early February. We have a closed packet which contains a pending legal case (either criminal or civil) and students practice both a Defense and Prosecution for the competiton.

    Mu Alpha Theta, the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society, was formed in 1957 at the University of Oklahoma. We are dedicated to inspiring a keen interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics in high school and two-year college students. Currently, more than 100,000 students are Mu Alpha Theta members at more than 2,420 schools in the United States and in 23 foreign countries.

    We are a club that offers tutoring for students in math after school in room 510 on the 1st and 3rd blocks.

    The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) recognizes high school students who demonstrate an outstanding ability and interest in art and promotes the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service by bringing art education to the attention of the school and community. We visit museums, curate art shows, complete art murals/projects, compete in a Street Painting festival each year, and support art students who enter the regional Scholastic Art and Writing competition. We are also responsible for the publication of Geodes, The Benjamin School Art and Literary Magazine.

    PAs partner with freshman faculty advisors to help students navigate the transition to high school.

     

    Place of Hope

    Student Leader(s);

    The Place of Hope Club aims to get the Benjamin community more involved with POH. POH is a foster care organization that provides a stable home and support to children who have had severe family issues. By running this club, we want to help the organization in any way possible (donation drives, food drives, manual labor on campus, volunteering at events on campus, making goody bags for the children, etc). By helping the children, we can help to lead them into a successful future they otherwise probably would not have had.

     

    Speech + Debate

    The Speech and Debate team belongs to three leagues: The Palm Beach Catholic Forensics League (for local competition), the Florida Forensics League (for state-wide competition), and the National Speech and Debate Association (for national competitions). The team competes in a variety of events throughout the year.

     

    Students Against Lupus

    The club works to spread awareness to Lupus and other auto-immune disorders and to be able to gather and donate resources to help with Lupus research.

     

    Veterans Appreciation Club

    To educate students and raise awareness of issues that our veterans face in their everyday lives. We would also focus on showing respect and gratitude towards veterans for their sacrifice and service. This would include organizing drives to help support veterans and currently deployed soldiers and their families.
