Zach Neidoff leaps to head a ball while playing Dwyer for the Varsity Benjamin Soccer team.

I started playing soccer at five years old. Throughout the years I have really discovered my love for the game by just continuing to have fun and improve while doing that. I have been on a number of teams over the years, but my favorite would have to be the Benjamin Varsity Soccer team last year, not only because of the success we had but mainly because of all of the amazing personalities on the team.

We had one of if not the best season in Benjamin soccer history. We made it through districts pretty easily, received a bye in regionals, and then went straight to the regional semifinals. We were down 2-0 with seven minutes left and were able to make a crazy comeback, score two goals in the final minutes, and then win in overtime. Everyone on the team played their hearts out and wanted to win for each other, as we had a ton of seniors.

The next game we played was a similar story as we were down 1-0, scored another late goal, and ultimately won the game in a penalty shootout to go to states, the first time for the boys soccer team in a while. I Remember the fans storming the field after that game, and it was just a fun, memorable experience. We ultimately lost in the State Semi Finals in Tampa to the number one team in the country, but nonetheless, the experience was unforgettable and the run we made was incredible.
